STRONG LIKE a GIRL is a podcast hosted by a girl named Tanya LaBuick - an entrepreneur, a powerhouse C-suite leader who's led teams on the world stage, and scaled start-ups into multimillion-dollar companies. From work with the Olympic Games, to Super Bowls, and the FIFA Women's World Cup, Tanya has a thirty year track record of success working with major corporations and betting on herself as the founder of LaBuick & Co.

Tanya believes resiliency and perseverance are choices. Tanya champions women; she is driven by the unshakable belief that every woman deserves the right to take up space and play boldly in any arena. Now in her 50s, Tanya is ready to talk about it all.

I am a globally certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with nearly 30 years of experience in infrastructure, project management, and high-performance team building. Over the course of my career, I have led several high-profile projects, including multiple Olympic Games, Super Bowls, the HSBC World Rugby Sevens, and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2014/15. As a successful business owner and entrepreneur, I have scaled two start-up construction companies to $16 million and $2 million in revenue, respectively, within seven years.

I bring a dynamic skill set as a Commercial Construction and Operations Specialist, with 13 years of experience managing infrastructure consultants and over two decades working on mega-events involving Overlay, Look, Signage, and Logistics. I am recognized for my fairness, team-first leadership approach, and strong time management capabilities. My expertise spans budget management, stakeholder engagement, and effective collaboration across all levels of an organization.

My professional development includes certifications in leadership facilitation, Lean Six Sigma (including change management), negotiation, and executive business coaching. These qualifications support my reputation as a results-oriented expert in project management and consulting.
I am one of the founders of the Phinney Legacy Fund, a not-for-profit organization advocating for mental wellness in the construction industry. Formed in memory of Scott Phinney—a brother, friend, and long-time tradesman who died by suicide in 2019—the fund provides benevolence and assistance to construction workers and companies without benefits to offset medication and counselling costs, reflecting my commitment to building healthier, safer communities within the industry.

Additionally, I am launching STRONG LIKE a GIRL. under LaBuick & Co., a service line focused on equipping women with the tools, confidence, and community to thrive personally and professionally, empowering women to navigate leadership, resilience, and growth in all areas of life.
